Action based space simulator that allowed the player to take part in battles of such magnitude that their fighter often looked like a speck of dust when compared to giant battleships. Aside the story mode in which the computer played as other pilots, Freespace allows players to play online, where they can meet other players and work together, wing by wing in cooperative mode, or fight against each other.
